Hyderabadi Biryani

The name Hyderabadi Biryani is derived from the Persian word that is birinj which means “rice”. Biryani is a dish that is spread across South Asia, Iraq and Indonesia. It is also very famous in our Indian culture and is loved by individuals. There are varieties of ingredients which are used to make it delicious. It is prepared by layering chicken with rice and steaming them. To increase its taste you can also add a cooling raita made with yoghurt, mint, cilantro, a pinch of salt and various chutneys with it.

So today I am going to tell you about the recipe for Hyderabadi biryani and I know that after reading the steps given below you will wonder how easy and convenient it is to make Hyderabadi biryani at home. I am sure that after following the steps given below this recipe will give you tasty Hyderabadi biryani just like the market.

Ingredients used to make Hyderabadi Banana Bread:-
  1. Warm water
  2. Yeast
  3. Chicken
  4. Some vegetable oil
  5. Garlic
  6. Ginger
  7. Chili peppers
  8. Mint
  9. Cilantro
  10. Garam masala
  11. Cinnamon
  12. Salt
  13. Onion
  14. Rice
  15. Cardamom
  16. Cumin
  17. Bay leaf.

    STEPS TO MAKE HYDERABADI BIRYANI

    1) First, we need to marinate the chicken for the biryani.

    2) Take a big bowl add some vegetable oil, garlic, ginger, chilli peppers, mint, cilantro, garam masala, cinnamon and salt and all together.

    3) Add the chicken pieces to a bowl and mix all ingredients well (make sure the chicken is coated in the marinade).

    4) Keep that bowl aside for around 1 to 2 hours.

    5) Take a big fry pan add ghee and onions and cook them till their colour changes to golden brown. Take them out in a bowl.

    6) Take some rice and wash in a utensil under cold water till the water becomes clear.

    7) Take a pot and add rice, water, salt, cardamom, cumin and bay leaf. Boil rice in this water for around 7 to 8 minutes. Then drain the water.

    8) Now in a fry pan add the chicken, skin-side down. Fry it until its colour changes to golden brown then flip the chicken and fry the side.

    9) Add half the rice mixture to the bottom of the pot in which the chicken was browned, and add an even layer of cooked onions.

      Now add the rest of the rice in even layers.

      11) Add 1 cup of water. Now cover the pot/utensil with a lid put the pot/utensils on the gas on medium flame and wait for around 20 minutes.

      12) When steam starts coming out from the lid, turn the gas on to low flame and continue cooking for 20 minutes.

      13) After completion of minutes wait for 10 more minutes to steam the biryani.

      14) Mix the chicken Biryani with the help of a spoon and then it is ready to eat. You can also add some fresh cilantro to it.
