Dal Makhani

So today I am going to tell you about the recipe for Dal Makhani I know that after reading the steps given below you will wonder how easy and convenient it is to make Dal Makhani at home. Ingredients used to make Dal Makhani

  1. 3 or 4 cup of urad dal sabut

  2. 1/4 cup of rajma

  3. 1 teaspoon of salt

  4. 3 and a half cups of water

  5. 1 tablespoon of ghee

  6. 3 tablespoons of butter

  7. 1 medium white onion

  8. 2 teaspoons of ginger garlic paste

  9. Half a cup of tomato

  10. Half a teaspoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder

  11. 1/4 teaspoon of garam masala

  12. Half a teaspoon of salt

  13. 1 and a half cups of water 12 oz, as needed

  14. Half a teaspoon of sugar

  15. 1/4 cup of cream

  16. Charcoal

  1. Firstly wash urad dal and rajma under cold water and keep them in a water bowl overnight.
  1. Now add the dal and rajma to a pressure cooker with some salt and water. Place the cooker on a gas stove on high or medium flame and cook for 10 minutes.
  1. Dal and rajma should be properly cooked. You should be able to mash them properly with your hands. With the help of a spoon or machine mash the mixture of dal and rajma and keep it aside.
  1. Place a large pan on a gas stove, heat it over high or medium flame, and add butter to it.
  1. After butter melts add the finely chopped onion and cook them for around 6 to 7 minutes till their colour changes to golden brown. Mix the onions properly with butter.
      1. Now add ginger garlic paste, and chopped tomato puree and mix properly. Cook this mixture for about 2 to 3 minutes
      1. Then add the boiled dal to it and mix well with the help of a big spoon. After mixing add garam masala, chili powder, salt, and water. Stir it and cook on low flame for about 40 to 45 minutes.
      1. Now add sugar, butter and cream to it. Dal is now almost prepared.
      1. Take a steel bowl and place it on top of a trivet placed inside the dal. Heat the charcoal piece till it gets red hot.
      1. Keep this hot charcoal in that steel add ghee in and quickly close the pan from a lid. Don’t remove the lid from the dal for about 2 to 3 minutes.
      2. Now our delicious dal makhani is prepared, add cream on top and enjoy eating with your loved ones.
