Jeera rice recipe: - Jeera rice recipe is not found in ancient books and scripts of Indian recipes and culinary art. Text about this recipe can be found in books and travelogues since the Mughal Empire. Mughals were fond of rice recipes, because of which cooks worked to invent new rice recipes as well as did experiments with traditional old recipes. And if the rice is cooked on a high fire, the rice will not cook well in this much water due to evaporation. Rice has to be cooked on a slow fire.
Ingredients to make Cumin Rice
- Basmati rice - 1 cup
- Ghee or oil - 2 -3 tablespoons
- Coriander leaves - 2-3 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon full to the top
- Lemon - 1
- Whole Spices - 1 big cardamom, 4 long, 7-8 black pepper and 1-inch cinnamon slice
- Salt - 1 tsp (as per taste)
How to make jeera rice Recipe
Clean the rice and wash and soak it in water for 1/2 hour. Remove the excess water from the rice after half an hour. Put ghee in a vessel and heat it, when the ghee is hot, add cumin seeds and fry them lightly (cumin should not be black), add whole spices, cinnamon, black pepper, long and cardamom and fry it lightly, soaked rice Add the rice to the spices and fry for 2 minutes while stirring continuously with a spoon.
Now add 2 cups of water, add salt and squeeze the lemon juice and add it to the rice (adding lemon juice improves the color and taste of the rice), mix well, stir the rice for 5 minutes on a slow fire Let it cook, after 5 minutes, open the rice and check, stir the rice well. Cover the rice again and let it cook again on a low flame for 5 minutes, open and check the rice, the rice is not fully cooked, right now Water is visible in the rice, stir the rice and cover it and let it cook again for 3-4 minutes, check the rice, the water has finished, the rice has become soft and long, the rice has been cooked. Turn the gas off.
