Lauki Kofta Recipe: - Bottle gourd, known as lake (Ghia) in Hindi and Dudhi in Gujarati, is generally not a popular vegetable in every household but it makes one of the best Indian curries. So follow the article and make the Luaki Kofta with curry otherwise without curry also make this dish.

Ingredients for making Lauki koftas

  • Gourd — 500 grams (grated hoe)
  • Gram flour - 50 grams (1/2 cup)
  • Green chili - 1-2 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger - 1/2inch long piece (grated)
  • Red chili - 2 pinch
  • Coriander leaves - 1tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Salt - as per taste (half a teaspoon) oil - for frying

  • Tomatoes - 2-3 (medium size)
  • Green chili - 2-3
  • Ginger - 1inch long piece
  • Curd - 1 कप2 cup
  • Cream or cream - half a cup
  • Oil - 1 - 2 tablespoon
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - a small spoon
  • Red chili powder - less than one-fourth teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves - 1 table spoon (finely chopped)
  • Salt - as per taste (less than a teaspoon)

Method of Making Luaki koftas Recipe

Peel the gourd, wash it, and grate it.  Combine grated gourd, green chilies, ginger, red chilies, coriander gram flour, and salt in a vessel and mix well. Keep the mixture for 10 minutes so that the gram flour flourishes. The mixture for making koftas is ready. Put oil in a thick bottom pan and heat it. Pick up about 1 tablespoon mixture from the fingers and put it in the pan. Put 4-5 koftas or as many koftas in a pan as possible. Turn the kofta and fry till it turns brown. Take out the fried koftas on a plate. Likewise, fry all the koftas.  Koftas are ready for the vegetable.

Method of making Lauki Kofta Curry Recipe

Finely grind tomatoes, green chilies, and ginger with a grinder. Put oil in a pan and heat it. Add asafetida and cumin seeds.  After roasting cumin, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder.  Now add ground tomato paste and fry the spices till the oil starts floating on the spices, then add curd and cream fat and fry for 3-4 minutes while stirring.

After roasting the masala, add a glass of water or water as thin as you want the curry to be. Keep stirring the curry with a spoon, after boiling, mix salt and garam masala.  Put already prepared gourd koftas and half-cut green coriander in the curry and let it boil for 1-2 minutes, set off the fire. Lauki Doodhi Ke Kofte vegetable is ready.
