Ingredients used to make Paneer Afghani

  • Four hundred and fifty grams of Cottage cheese
  • One medium-sized finely chopped onion
  • One teaspoon of ginger garlic paste
  • Half a cup of cashew nuts
  • Half a cup of Melon seeds
  • One full cup of cream milk
  • Two tablespoons of cream
  • One large diced tomato
  • Three cloves
  • One small cardamom
  • Basil leaf
  • Five to six raisins
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Pepper
  • Red chilli powder


  1. Place the cottage cheese on the chopping board. Now with the help of a sharp knife cut the paneer into small cubes-sized pieces.
  1. Take a kadha and place it on a gas stove over a high flame. Add oil to it. No w ad thee cut pieces of paneer in the kadhai and fry them. Do not completely fry them take them out after 30 to 40 seconds.

      1. Take a frying pan; add olive oil/sunflower oil to it. Heat the oil, after that add the chopped onions to the pan and fry them till their colour changes to golden brown.
      1. Now add ginger garlic paste, tomato, sugar, salt, pepper, cashew nut, and melon seed paste. Stir all the ingredients properly with the help of a spoon. Cook it till the tomatoes get soft.

              1. Now allow the mixture to get cool. After it gets cooled take a blender jar and blend it with milk and cream.
              1. Put this blended mixture into the pan with half-fried cottage cheese pieces. Cook them properly.

                  1. Now add raisins and cook again for about two to three minutes. Take away the pan from the stove and keep it aside.
                  1. Take another and heat butter in it. After the butter gets start melting add cloves, cardamoms, and basil leaf. Cook them after 1 minute add this mixture to the prepared paneer mixture.
